Sense of Shared Context

Over time, systems of people develop their language to describe their work. The domain language of a human system helps it with explaining common concepts and, in the best cases, adds specificity to rather complex subjects.

Unfortunately, though, human systems are changing all of the time, which brings new contributors into the organization, and these people often have little to no domain knowledge to create logical connections between their lives and the organization. Work goes on each day, yet we lack the instinct to ensure that each person in the room is in on the language of the organization.

The language of an organization may flow more freely when there are higher levels of accountability between the people working together. Low accountability ensures that conversations happen, not understood or productive.
